Outdoor mind body spirit event – therapists can you help?

Outdoor mind body spirit event – therapists can you help?

Natural health practitioners are invited to take part in the country’s first ever outdoor Mind Body Spirit event to help autistic children.

The two day “A Touch of Therapy” festival is planned for October as a novel way to introduce the children and their parents to a range of alternative and complementary therapies.

It is being organized by Laois ARC and ARC Eireann on October 8th and 9th at Ballintela  near a 600 acre woodland just outside Stradbally, Co Laois.

Says Maggie Whelan of Laois ARC: “We are inviting new or unique therapies at this event, we would love to see them.

“It is going to be a gathering of healers in a natural setting with mother nature as inspiration, like an out of doors mind, body and spirit.”

Whats on offer

Therapists will converge on the site for the two days offering everything from yoga, reiki and painting to horse therapy, therapeutic gardening, tai chi, shamanism and organic food.

The festival will also offer walks in the woodland, a small animals area, a kids therapy area,  an eco homes and gardens expo’ and live music.

“We are putting the word out about it at the moment” adds Maggie who has asked any interested practitioners to get in touch by email, desribing what therapy they can bring to the event.

“We want to give people in Ireland an opportunity of A Touch of Therapy to let them know what is available to them, to complement what ever therapy that the may be using or may not be using!!

“We hope this event will help the whole family and especially the children to find something that might make life a bit more enjoyable for them.”

Therapists can have a pitch for two days at the event for a fee of €70.

Entrance to the festival is €5 for adults and children are free.
